The 2026 Metro-Boston Diaper Drive will run from October 4 - October 17. Let's make 2026 the most successful year yet!
As of July, the Somerville WIC office, instead of serving 8 towns, now serves 19! Diapers will now be going to Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Burlington, Cambridge, Everett, Lexington, Lincoln, Malden, Medford, North Reading, Reading, Somerville, Stoneham, Wakefield, Watertown, Wilmington, Winchester, and Woburn.
Today 47% of families report difficulty providing all the diapers needed. Since the pandemic, the price of diapers has reportedly increased 48%. This Substack article, Revisiting Food, Diapers, and Mental Health, by Metro-Boston Diaper Drive supporter and psychologist Jasmine Mote, PhD, details the toll diaper need takes on the mental health of caregivers.
